The Catfish Study Group has held annual conventions since the 1970s and in 2023 will be hold its 43rd edition.
With some of the best catfish keepers from the UK, the USA and Europe sharing their knowledge through entertaining lectures (and on the doorstep of some of the best catfish retailers in the UK), the Convention is attended by up to 100 friendly delegates at the luxury four-star Kilhey Court Hotel in Wigan.
The theme for 2023 is the Auchenipterid family of woodcats, with world renowned US aquarist Jeremy Basch — one of the few people to successfully breed the jaguar catfish Liosomodoras oncinus.
Bradford-based UK aquarist Ian Wallbridge is also planning to share the secrets of his success breeding over a dozen different species of woodcats.
